The Stone Bicycle Coalition app is our ride companion for the Black Hills. Good routes, a ride recorder you can read on the handlebar, and push-to-talk radio for your group. It’s free, there’s no account, and it’s in beta now on iPhone and iPad.
What’s in it
- Routes. 58 curated gravel, road and trail rides, most of them in the Black Hills, with maps, elevation and turn-by-turn directions.
- Offline maps. Download topo maps before you lose signal.
- Ride recorder. A big, plain screen, live elevation, what’s coming up on the route, and crash recovery if the app gets closed.
- Rally Radio. Push-to-talk voice for your group, phone to phone. No cell service needed.
- Your rides. History, stats, trip journals with photos, and exports to GPX, FIT, TCX or KML. Works with Apple Health.
- Apple Watch. Ride stats on your wrist while you record.
How to join the beta
- Install Apple’s free TestFlight app on an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or later.
- Open the beta link on that device and tap Accept, then Install.
- Take it on a ride. When something breaks or feels wrong, use the feedback button in TestFlight or tell us at the shop.
It’s a beta, so some of it is rough. Android isn’t in this round yet.
Privacy
No sign-up and no tracking. Your rides stay on your phone unless you export them, and Rally Radio talks phone to phone without a server. Read the privacy policy.
The app is built by Trad Diff in Rapid City.
