What an epic morning in Spearfish! As the sun rose over the Black Hills, a hardy group of bikepackers launched into the 2025 Black Hills Expedition—a grueling 440-mile adventure through the stunning landscapes of South Dakota and Wyoming. This self-supported race tests endurance, navigation, and that unbreakable spirit we love in our biking community.
A huge shoutout and good luck to two of our own: Perry Jewett & Zach Stone, both hailing from Spearfish and repping the Black Hills and Ridge Riders. Whether you’re chasing personal bests or just soaking in the trails, guys—pedal strong, stay fueled, and bring home those stories!
Keep an eye on these riders to watch as the miles unfold at with realtime GPS data at TrackLeaders.
– Bryce Thorman & Jason Thorman (Spearfish, SD): Founding member and family ready to crush.
– Darren Lytle & Garick Ploog (Spearfish, SD): Fellow Spearfish shredders bringing that hometown energy.
– Josh Bruhn & Landon Schmidt (Rapid City, SD): Our neighbors from the heart of the Hills, pushing the pace.
– Pat Adrian (Roseau, MN): A veteran with past finishes under his belt, always a steady force.
At the Stone Bicycle Coalition, events like this remind us why we pedal: for the adventure, the connections, and the pure joy of it all.
